CARDI B'S 'INVASION OF PRIVACY' IS TIME MAGAZINE'S ALBUM OF THE YEAR

TIME magazine just announced Cardi B's debut record Invasion of Privacy as the top album of 2018.
All hail Cardi.
In 2017, Bodak Yellow went bonkers. The hit single saw Cardi becoming the first female hip-hop artist to reach no.1 on the charts since Lauryn Hill with her 1998 hit Doo Wop (That Thing).
But it's 2018 that became THE year of Cardi.
When her album Invasion of Privacy dropped in April, it was no.1 on the Billboard 200 within a week.
Cardi's fizzing latin-trap single I Like It also hit no.1, making Cardi the first female rapper to EVER score two no.1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Did we mention the word EVER?
From Bruno Mars to Maroon 5, everyone's been scrambling to get the feisty Bronx rapper to feature on their tracks.
Recent singles Money and Ring are raking in streams.
The woman is at the top of her game. And EVERYONE is noticing.

2018 saw Cardi winning 3 VMA awards, 2 AMAs, 2 iHeartRadio awards and absolutely cleaning up the BETs. We'll eat our bloody hats if she doesn't get a Grammy nod next January.

Now the influential publication TIME has added to Cardi's stack of accolades, announcing Invasion of Privacy as their top album of 2018.
Cardi is in good company. SZA's Ctrl took out TIME's top album last year, with Kendrick's DAMN. sliding into the silver placing. Meanwhile, Frank Ocean's Blonde was crowned the top TIME album in 2016.
Digging into the archives, Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, Prince's Purple Rain, and Notorious B.I.G's Ready to Die were all given props by TIME when they were originally released.
